Most of these where out by TMS. This storm was interesting but boring compared to what's to come this season.

Thanks ya'll... My goal this season is to actually catch a tornado... I 've seen a few in my lifetime but didn't understand them enough to actually be crazy enough to go catch one... This intrest of mine sparked a few years ago.

Cool Erin. That's acutally one of my goals in life too - photograph a tornado. And I'd also like to be in a hurricane (cat 1 or 2 is fine), and an earthquake.

I've unfortunately..well fortunately..I guess, have never seen a Tornado in real life. I'de love to hit up north sometime to capture some shots. I'de like to see a tornado in the works..not harming anyone or anything..just screaming through a field ripping up the land.

Nice shots Erin! What is that first screen shot of? If it's a web site or program, I'd like to take a look (my wife is a weather f.r.e.a.k.)

Also, if you're up for a suggestion... for clouds like you've got you might want to experiment with boosting the contrast and/or shadow levels. It tends to bring out the texture of the weather a little bit more.

This thread reminds me of the movie "Twister" I'm expecting to see flying cows anytime now.

You did good Erin, the storm chaser you are!

Looks like wunderground.com, though if I remember correct they get their weather info from NOAA. I was looking at that rolling in from my office today. It's weird being able to walk from one end of the office, to the other, and feel it getting darker with every step.

It's funny that you should say that. That is my favorite movie of all time....

And I am a firm believer in this.... I don't want o scare anyone but it really could happen.

It could happen tomorrow

Tell me Erin.. When you do catch this tornado... Where are you going to put it?

Sorry old man humor is slowly taking me over.

I have been in a few tornadoes.. The last one being the one that hit downtown FTW and destroyed the bank building (among other things). One thing that I will always remember about one that I was in...Freaking baseball to Softball sized hail coming directly through the roof and the dang civil defense alarms going off at the school across the street. Even at the advanced age of 14 or so.. I was severely freaked out by it.

I was at the Harris Hospital downtown FTW today when that came blowing in. From the room I was in it came directly at us/past us.. HEAVY rain for about 10min.. then done.

Great shots! I was driving home yesterday looking at some of these awesome looking clouds.

As I am a native Texan, Amarillo is my hometown, I have seen many tornadoes in my life. I am completely fascinated by tornadoes, so much that I have dreams of them. They are typically never pleasant. They are powerful events of nature.

You say that now...try saying it when there's one a half mile from your home and you can't figure out which way its moving, lol. Being a big city boy I'd never seen a tornado a day in my life...and photographed two in about a 5 minute span two years ago in Cedar Hill. The siren was going off and Fox 4 was showing the map with the cloud rotation and i'm like "Hey, that's where I live." I grabbed the camera and ran outside just as the hail began. There were 4 or 5 neighbors that had come out to look at it. All of a sudden one yells out holy (explicative), we looked up, and there was a funnel cloud forming almost directly overhead.

You're as scared as, well, you can guess, but something about it causes you not to run back in the house even though you're getting pelted with hail. It ended up touching down in Midlothian. I'll post em when i get home tonight.
