Just to let some of the metroplex shooters know, I saw some good size (6-8 inch) Bluebonnets off 183 in Irving going west! They are almost here! I have never anticipated spring flower season like I have his year! | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

There are also patches of bluebonnets along I-30 in Arlington ...

Anticipation on this end as well. They are starting to pop up in Cedar Hill State Park as well. Caught this one yesterday after a shoot.

I stopped to photograph all of the buckeye and plum trees that were blooming on the east side of the road about half way down to the south boat ramp. There were a few Lupinus texensis blooming right by the road. Just go into the main entrance, take a left at the T, and watch for the blooming buckeye trees on your left just after the camping area turnoff. Got lots more during the 2 hours it took me to "leave" the park after I finished a shoot at the south ramp. Hope to start processing all of them tomorrow night. I had already done this one since my wife likes bluebonnets so much.

So, if this is the beginning, when would be the typical peak, and the end, of the local DFW bluebonnet season?

Uh huh, pretty tired myself on Saturday evening.
