Very nice! I especially like the pond picture...beautiful!

And just an fyi, Ameriquest is no longer sponsoring the ballpark. It is now going to be called something like The Texas Rangers Ballpark.

That's right Cyndi! It is now called The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington! Finally we are back to a normal name!

Smile Allowed Equipment - 03-21-2007, 11:36 AM

Great Pictures!!

Sooooooo...

It's been a while since I've been to a game. I wanted to go to yesterday's game as the SF Giants were in town. SF is where I grew up and have been a fan since I was a kid (still am, just don't tell my wife that :)

I've never checked out what kind of equipment people take to the games, but am interested in taking some gear with me the next time I go (which will hopefully be soon).

Do you happen to know what is allowed into the stadium?
- Lens limits
- Monopod or Tripod
- Bag (small (microtrekker), medium (minitrekker), or large (computrekker AW plus))

Is there a fee to bring in your equipment?
I would love to be able to go an hour or two before the game and take photos of them practicing. I assume this would be the best chance to get up close (and still stay in the stands).

I asked this question two years ago, but obviously times have changed and I assume the rules have as well.

I'm not sure how big those bags are you mentioned, but I've brought my Crumpler 7 Million home in without any problems. I use my 30d and last year used my 75-300mm lens from the upper deck and got some great shots! I don't know about tripods and monopods...never took mine.

OK, here are some pics I took last season.

From upper deck:

That's all I have on my computer from upper deck. The rest of these were taken at a night game from about row 15 or so behind home plate. I know the two pictures above were taken with my 75-300mm lens. The ones below were either taken with that lens or my 24-70 lens.

Thanks for the comments and for checking out my post. I'm glad to hear the stadium is losing it's "brand" name. I hate that stadiums and arenas now carry the corporate sponsor as an official part of the name.

The 7 Million Dollar Home looks to be about the size of a microtrekker or a minitrekker. That gives me a good idea about bag size.

Did they rumage thru the bag upon entry? Or just a quick peek?

Thanks, Michelle!

Nope, they barely peek inside...and just the top pocket opening....they didn't open all the pockets...thank goodness!
