Did anyone see the photo on the front page of Today's Metro section(Dallas Police)? 1. What is it? It kind of looks like a rose, but what does that have do with the headline?

Does anybody have a contact at DMN?

Maybe it has something to do with the dallas police officer who was killed in the line of duty on Friday? Flowers = funeral or memorial? heheh Not too sure. I havent seen it. Ill have to look at it later.

Is it online? I looked at the DMN website a little this morning but couldn't find it.

I have a few. Lemme see if either of them knows off hand. If not, I'm sure it won't difficult to track down an answer.

Now that I think about it, you could probably just call up there and ask around yourself. You may get bounced around between this desk and that for a while, but it can't be that difficult to reach an art director.

One of the two ppl I know covers local news, so he might have an idea... the other covers real estate, so, not so much. If anything, they can provide us with a number to call.

They had a memorial at the northwest substation in Dallas for Officer Nix. He was killed after he stopped a car believed to be seen at the scene of a murder a few days before.

No it wasn't, hence part of the problem.

It is a rose in the plastic packaging. The rose was set atop one of our squad cars under the light bar and the rain was running off it during the candle light vigil at NW substation.
