Scarborough Fair? - 04-08-2007, 10:31 AM

Anyone going to Scarborough Fair in Waxahachie this year?

Scarborough Renaissance Fair

My wife and I are planning to go, but with all of our scheduled activities, it will be the 28th before we can go. I may go myself on the 21st as she will be out of town.

Anyone gone this year and gotten picks? I know yesterday was just plain ole COLD and not conducive to outdoor activities, but it is better than the high 80 to low 90 temperature when we went the second time last year (their last weekend open. Our first weekend was their opening weekend).

I am thinking about going this year just because I have never been.

I went for the first time last year. It was hot, so I hope to go earlier this year.
I did get one of my "favorite" nymph photos.

I think I remember seeing that nymph last year myself.

Last year was our first time as well. I had a great time. We went a second during their closing weekend. It was WAYYYYYYYY hot. The first couple of weeks would have been perfect. The end of April should still be nice, but the last week in May will be getting pretty hot.

It's a yearly tradition for us.. plus, my mother-in-law is in the cast so of course it's also MANDATORY haha :) That girl is the cutest Tom...their resident photog, Paul, takes a lot of pictures of her, as well as all the other scantilly clad ladies at the fair :P I've brought my camera a few times, but never manage to take any pictures cuz I'm too busy complaining about my feet and the heat!

I have a couple of friends that are on the cast. I think I've been going every year since I moved to the states 6 years ago. I will probably be there again this year :)

The wife and I have decided to go on the 28th of April.. in part because we haven't been in eons, in part because that week is 20 years since we met, and in part so she can practice shooting people/events.

I am shooting a "Theme" wedding there on Saturday with a "Feast" to follow... then back to Timmeron CC for a reception later in the evening.

Should be quite interesting. LOL

I was curious about their wedding options. I would love to see one of those someday.

It's looking more and more that my wife and I will be out on the 28th of April as well.

I have no idea what I am getting into.. LOL - I know it's in a tent and there is a "feast"... that is about it. Never been out there before. I'll post some images when I get back...

Hah, the guy that does the weddings is one of my friends/co-workers. You can see him in here. He's the Bishop in the top right picture.
