FINALLY! Nikon 18-200mm VR - 04-09-2007, 03:20 PM

I finally got approval from the "CFO" to make the "investment" on this lens. I finally have some reach and the VR is fantastic!

I am shooting at the Eisemann Center tomorrow afternoon with my photography class, and I can't wait to break this baby in!

That is what I keep hearing. Order it and wait three months. I got it from Competitive Camera. They had two...well...now one. $799 was the price.

I got mine from Competitive Camera last December for a trip to Kauai. It did a great job as a walk-around lens. I didn't want to carry 50# of glass so I took the 18-200 VR, a wide angle, and a 50mm 1.4. I used the wide angle once and never used the 50mm.

I got mine last March from Best Buy. The only thing I have noticed is...when you have the VR on it makes a faint high pitch sound. And when you hold the shutter half way to get the auto focus right it slightly moves the image inside the viewfinder.
