When you say shootout are you talking about just getting together for some fun or are you talking about getting together, give everyone some subject material to photograph and have judges decide the winner at the end of the day? Just curious, eitherway I am interested in the idea!

We call a ShootOut around here, just everyone getting together and finding different things for all of us to take pics of and just hang out. Usually, lots of food, fun, did I mention food :D

I think it would really be neat to see just how many folks we might be able to get together and all meet and take some pics.

Glad your interested, I hope we can get some interest and find some places to shoot at.

I think we should open this up to everyone on the forum who wants to make the drive, regardless of where you live! You can never have enough photogs, beer and food in one location!!

What are you doing over here in Fort Worth/Dallas section, you're supposed to be in the Houston Section getting all your group together for this shoot :lol:

I guess we also so need to try to pin down a date to do this, so I guess a poll and a couple of proposed dates to choose from. Also, maybe the Austin Group can get us some dates of things going on, it may be really crowded some weekends and not so bad the next.

I was wondering if we want to venture outside the city for anything , isn't there some really neat "water falls" near Austin?

I think Austin and its surroundings will make for a fun gathering spot, plus there should be plenty of photo ops. I will have to look around, but I bet there are plenty of events going on over the summer and fall.

Howdy All,

The details are slowly :oops: being worked out. So far, the date has been set for August 6 and August 7th in Austin. We are trying to firm up hotel locations and shooting opportunities there, so if anyone has any suggestions or favorite places to shoot or eat, please let me know!!!

I hope some of ya'll will be able to make it, and I think it will be a great opportunity for a great group of people to meet each other.

Well, time is getting closer and closer to the Shoot Out, and not to be pushy or rush ya'll, but I would really appreciate it if you could let me know how many think they might attend so we can start getting some numbers put together to make plans for Eating and other activities.

As of now, I know Karen, NancyW., and I will be going. We plan to go Friday early evening and stay Friday night and Saturday night.

So let me know, and even if you can't make it and have some suggestions or ideas, please let us know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
