I know of several wooded areas in the Ft. Worth/Mid-Cities area. Look for my posts in the Human Form, Landscape and People section and see if they might be what you're looking for. If you like, PM me and we can get together for a little scouting expedition sometime.

You might try here also. http://www.ci.hurst.tx.us/Departments/Parks/Rickel.htm
It's a nice park with some heavily wooded areas. Not as heavily wooded as it was a few years ago but still nice.

Of course River Legacy park is always an option also. Lots of wooded areas in there to get lost in.

Across the street from the Botanical Gardens is a great little park area with lots of live oaks and open area to shoot in. Also down near the zoo there are park areas and wooded areas that can be used with little or no interference from onlookers..

Photogenic, I know of a place that is very woodsy, and somewhat not well known it exists. Its located Just west of Grapevine Lake. Not sure what kind of photography you are looking to do, but if you need privacy it's a good spot.

As has already been mentioned, FW Botanical Gardens, River Legacy Park, Cedar Hill State Park, Dinosaur Valley State Park, and others. It's not hard to find wooded areas around here like the ones in the link that was posted in the OP.
