This really works for me -- especially with the Pier 1 Building placed so well. And as you noted, the clouds are magnicent. Excellent Job!

Bruce, thanks!

Tom, let me know and I'll meet you for some skyline shooting. I love to do the nighttime shots (in color). for this shot I was a couple hundred yards from the horse jump water hole.

able, yeah, I made one for my 717's nodal point, and also designed around manfrotto parts I already have to make things simple for me.

here's my first design, followed by the second design which includes a setback for the nodal point.

cheers,

Skyline shooting - 06-17-2005, 05:23 PM

Hello Jerry!

I would be very interested in some skyline shooting or even some beautiful lanscapes. I am just afraid that I do not have the proper equipment.

What would I need? I have a Canon Rebel EOS SLR (film) with 35-80mm, 70-200mm, and 28-200mm lenses as well as a Canon G3 Powershot.

Thanks!

edd

Jerry:

I also wanted to ask about the IR effect ... was it the filter or did you use IR film or setting on the camera?

Thanks!

Tom and X,

got in late from a long day of shooting and driving. please hang on, and I'll be glad to answer your question in some detail, tomorrow maybe.

If you guys want to shoot FW skyline some evening, let me know, I have a few places I like, and one I want to try out. lets go.

cheers,

edd,

I get off work around 4:30 here in Ft Worth. I could stay over after work just about any evening if I had a day's notice to drive in by myself.

not too sure when sunset happens, but, could get a bite to eat, let things cool off a bit (ha, :D ) and still scout a couple of places you'd like to try before the light gets good and the sun starts going down.

Probably want to shoot until after 9 pm to let it get good and dark.

Anyone else interested?

-=- Jerry -=-

Oh yeah, my IR shots are taken with my Sony 717, in nightshot mode, using a Hoya R72 IR filter.

jake, consider it done. don't forget the Lone Star Park meet-up on wed. the 22nd.

I won't be going to that one (was just there last week).

I don't want this to conflict with the 22nd., but like I said almost any week night is fine with me.
