I'm looking to get some practice in Deep Ellum. A model as said she would help out for TFP/TFCD. Anyone interested? It was also mentioned that 8-9am is the best time, but I would also like to do some night shooting. Post here what day of the week and time you'd like to go.

I have a model friend if she can come along. I was think of using her to practice well as well.

I have shot numerous model sessions there. Works well, but you need to get there EARLY. I mean 8am-9am.. Otherwise light is not very good. Also, in the evening you're dealing with "interesting" and quite bothersome individuals roaming around. I typically shoot there early on a weekend morning. Take a reflector with you... it'll help a lot.

Thanks man. I've dealt with the homeless down there having performed in deep ellum for a few years now, but never had an issue.... then again... knock on wood. I'd like to some night shots as well.

(I played in a few bands there too)..

Lets just put it this way.. They will get in the way, distract your model and generally make things uncomfortable. I find it best to get out there when there are very few there and light is optimal. Have fun!

Ah, yes... they come up to you and ask for money. I've come up with an interesting method to deal with them while we unload our trailer.... my band mate shows them his badge and informs them of the law -lol.

Oh, and another thing I've done... the first one that comes up, I give him 5 dollars to keep the other ones away. My guitar player is a little nicer... brings a case of water and hands them out.

I just say "ME NO SPEAKA ENGRISH" and it gets them off my tail...I do that to survey people but I haven't tried it on cops cause a lot of my mannerisms are not quite asian.

I'm good for weekend morning (which would be ideal)...or evening shots would be good too.

I also would love to come. I have never done anything down there. I have drove through it twice though. hehehe I work m-f 8-5 and have a workshop this Saturday. But I would love to attend.

Jim's studio is great! I checked it out last night. I've got a pretty busy weekend, but I could possibly break away either Saturday or Sunday morning for a short time to join up.
