Arlington Camera Customer Service - 05-02-2007, 12:42 PM

I rented a Nikon 70-200 VR 2.8 lens from Arlington Camera this weekend. There was some mix up and they lost my rental. To make it right the didn't hesitate to pull a brand new one out of the box and rent it to me.

That's what I call customer service. Worth the drive from Frisco.

(And I got to buy one of those lenses.)

Bill Bunton has one for sale if he hasn't sold it already. Check the buy and sell forum.

Maybe I should have said, "I really wish I could afford to buy one of those right now." Thanks for the tip though.

I have rented from them many times and they are really great about doing that. Their costumer service is why I buy from them

Have you tried renting from Camera Stop in Plano. (Preston and Parker)? They rent at the same price, and they rent both the IS and Non IS version. Just my two cents. Plus its a shorter drive from Frisco.

Gonna jump on the Arlington Camera bandwagon here. Those guys rock! I've rented from them a ton of times. I also had an experience where the 70-200 that I rented had a few problems. I was due to rent it again the following weekend. They had a brand new one waiting for me.

My first contact was to them, but in Nikon they only rent the 80-200 (non-VR) and not the 70-200 VR (Rental List).

Arlington Camera was they only place in Dallas I found that was renting the lens at all (Jay said Fort Worth Camera might also).

Here's two images I got with the lens. Lit by flashes, one clamped to a chair in the front row, one bounced off the cieling for fill. Fired via Ebay Ghetto Triggers, strobist-style.
