I love this little waterfall in Richardson. I took a few photos last summer but I want to go out and get some better ones.

The senior photos are done very well. The only thing I noticed was in the first photo...her hands just seem to be in an akward position in the pose. That is about all I have though. Very well done Roxanna!

I do not want to steal your thread here but I just thought I'd post my one photo of the falls that I got last summer:

Oh, and you are going to have to teach me how to get that soft, whisper effect with the water! I love how that is done, I have just never been able to figure it out.

Wow you got that one last summer Shaun? I had a session there in July of last year and lovingly refered to it as the water trickle. It was barely dripping. I hope to have a few sessions there soon before it dries up again. Such a beautiful location. I've never been during prime light on the weekends, is it packed with photographers? My next sessions will have to be weekend when I usually do weekdays.

Haha, wow. Sorry Mandy, I def was not even paying attention when I was typing earlier. I took that photo this past January. Just a little off I know. My bad. When I was out there I was the only person in sight but I'm sure it gets packed pretty quick on the nice Spring and Summer days out there.

Drag the shutter. 1/15s is about the fastest you can go before the water starts to look static. But for best results you want to be closer to 1/4s or 1/2s. A neutral density filter will be of use here if you want to have any appreciablly shallow DOF.

I had my aperture opened all the way. The only bad thing out of it was I noticed the nasty little dirt on my sensor and had to photoshop it out!! I took one shot with the camera in my hand, but apparently my hands shake too bad. Once I put the camera on the tripod, it was easy sailing!

When I was at the park, there were 2 other photographers. 1 was bird watching and the other was just taking pictures of the fall. It was kind of a dreary day so that may be why. I'm going to take more out there in a couple of weeks if we can ever put a time together so I'll let you know. I also need to take my girls out for some pictures there, but all I hear from them is "can't you find another practice model".

ahh..the old falls...forget about going there on a weekend...it is usually crawling with wedding and portraiture photographers. If you want some good shots of those falls without people running all over it, you have to go on the weekday
