I finally got out there yesterday to do a senior shoot. I played around with the settings on my camera and then this afternoon I got to playing around with Photoshop. It's the first time I've had the nerve to post anything after I've played around with the picture so be gentle!
This place is absolutely beautiful. After my senior left, I just sat there and watched the water for a while. It's very relaxing! | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

It's nice to see the water running. I kinda figured that it would be. Last time I was there was a year ago when we were in a drought. Almost nothing coming through the falls. It looks awesome now!

It's in Richardson. I can't speak for sure, but my thought is that it is man made. It's in Richardson off of 75 and Campbell. If you go West on Campbell past the 1st light, the next road to the right is Prairie Creek Drive. Here is the locale link: http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=22390
There are trees, grassy areas and the park goes for a while. You will come across different bridges also. It almost looks as if it was made for pictures (even though I'm sure that I am wrong lol).
Here is the original picture too.

If you don't mind me asking, what steps did you do to process the photo from the original to the one you posted at the top?
I am trying to improve my Photshop skills.
Thanks,
Paul | | | |

This picture is very nice. I live nearby. though I took some pictures, I hadn't noticed the tiny waterfall was so nice until I saw your picture.

Thanks,
Paul | To be honest, If I said I have a 2% knowledge of Photoshop, I would be exagerating! I honestly started trying to edit the picture just playing around to see what I could do (reading my book that is supposed to be teaching me everything but I'm too impatient and can't wait to get to the fun stuff). I got frustrated and just started messing with the levels in Smart Sharpen. I think I might have even turned them all the way up and it looks like it was in lens blur. Sorry I'm not more help. I wish I knew what I did!! lol
Thanks for all of your comments. If there is anything that I can do to improve it, please feel free to share!

There were a unch of little kids playing in the water when we were there and their parents were taking some shots..good pics Rox!!

Thanks Bobby! Yeah, she wanted to get in the water but her mom wasn't there and even though they are friends of ours, I frowned against it. The problem is, she wanted to go in the water to see what was in the cave. She is funny, and I wouldn't have put it past her but she'll have to go back and do it without me there.

What an awesome shot! Thanks for reminding me about this place. I have only been once and it was when the waterfall was DRY! It looks great now.

Ok-What is really sad is that I worked at Nortel Networks and lived a mile from there for years but never visited. Now I'm in Fort Worth and it seems too far to drive just to visit a park.
Lucky for me they have parks here as well! I better hurry up and visit one before I move again.

In the first one I would do something with her feet. They make it look like something is growing out of the top of her head. In the second one I would have shot her at more of an angle. Having her legs coming directly towards the camera make them look short and stubby. It looks like your exposure is good, though. Keep practicing and you'll get it figured out.
