I've been noticing that our trips to Pug Mark park to photograph the incredible animals don't seem to be as filled up as in the past. I just want to say that if you haven't had the opportunity to get out there, sign up now!
I know it may not seem cheap, but, believe me, it's worth it to get close to these magnificent animals, get some great shots without some of the photo obstacles you might find in a zoo, learn a lot about them, have fun, and have the great company of other photogs just like you, maybe get some tips or just get to know others on the forum who attend. All that plus a release on the use of the pictures (not all that important to me as i'm not a pro), the contribution is tax-deductible (they are a 501c3 organization) and the money goes right to the care of these beautiful animals.
I've been out there five times and each time offers different photo opportunities.
Tom Hicks and Trey Neal have done a wonderful job month-in, month-out of organizing these shoots, getting everyone out there, and keeping the support for the park up. My hat's off to them for the job they do. But it's important that we continue to support the work of Pug Mark Park and get out there. So this is a perfect time, with the weather being better than, say July or August, (although the monsoon we're currently experiencing makes things more difficult), and the foliage in their enclosures makes for really exciting shots.

Sign up and maybe I'll see you out there next time I go. Rocky will watch for you too!
