Just throwing something out there to see if there is any interest. Are there any outdoorsy TPFers in DFW/North Texas that would be interested in a GTG at someplace like this. Shoot all day on Saturday, pot luck dinner (or dinner at Meers) on Sat. night, shoot again on Sunday. Just wondering.

The Wichita Mountains are very cool, especially when you consider they are only three hours away from the Metroplex. Interesting boulder formations up on the mountain plateaus (more hillish in height but the steepness I guess makes them mountains), tons of bison, elk, and prairie dogs that you can photograph close quarters and all sorts of other flora and fauna to fill up a memory card.

The Autumn for the elk bugling would be a good time to go because there's no relief from the heat in the summer.
