Old beat up trucks in Dallas - 06-20-2007, 09:08 PM

This is totally random I realize... but bear with me.

I'm going to be back in dallas doing some test shooting in July, and am wanting to rent/borrow an old beat up ford or chevy truck for a shoot out in the country...

Does anyone have any clue how one would go about finding such a thing?! I googled antique car rentals but didn't have much luck...

I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear 'em!

Thanks!

Buy one, re-sell it?
Find someone that wants to sell one, make them an offer to rent it (with driver) for an afternoon for a couple of hundred bucks. (The "with driver" is so they don't think you're going to just steal it.)
Drive around, spot one parked, make a deal with the owner to use it?
On I-30 at Cumby, there is a place with a bunch of old cars on the north side of the highway. I assume the guy either sells them or rebuilds them. I don't remember seeing trucks, though, it was old 50's sedans mostly.

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Well if you want to buy one…. I’ll make you a deal.

Built this for my Kid a few years back (farther and son project) . After $18,000 invested in everything… Damn thing scared me…It was a little too much “hot rod” for me to sleep at night while he was out and about. Bought him a Toyota and garaged the truck.

On the south side of I-30 around Royce City is a place called "Classic Chevy's". They had a couple of old (unrestored) trucks and several cars parked out front.
