Gates open at 6:30. We usually get there early and take dinner with us. Ice chests are allowed but it is a family atmosphere.

I know these are not the best shots. However, I nabbed them with the point and shoot last year.

Two from tonight. Will dig through everything tomorrow and post a few more. Great event tonight. Hope some of you made it out there tonight. They set the fireworks off directly overhead and I had a 70-200 on the camera. I should have taken the wide angle.

Hi Carly,

1 - ISO 1000, 1/5s, f/5, 70-200 f/2.8L IS @ 115mm on 30D, tripod

2 - ISO 1000, 1s, f/11, 24-70 f/2.8L @24mm on 30D, tripod

3 - ISO 1000, 1/25s, f/4, 70-200 f/2.8L @ 200mm on 30D, tripod

Definitely should have bumped my ISO down to 200 or 400 for the fireworks. They were directly overhead and the longer exposures I did were totally blown out. I was so close to them that it was hard to capture the whole burst in the frame. However, I did get a few nice ones. Good practice for upcoming fireworks displays.

EDIT: These are roughly straight from the camera with crop and noise ninja. I tweaked the curves a bit on the fireworks shot. I was too tired and full of margaritas last night to play with any PP.
