I know the feeling, well almost, we got out but didnt make it out as quickly as we hoped so barely caught any of them at all and not anywhere close enough for me to get pictures. Looking forward to seeing others pictures myself.

Well, I went to the Botanical Gardens fireworks but deceided to simply sit back and enjoy them tonight. The Botanical Gardens fireworks were a much better show than the Southlake show IMO.

Well, I guess I'll go first. We luckily got a break in the rain. My first attempt at fireworks:

All were at ISO 100, 50mm, F13, Bulb @ 3-6 sec. on a tripod.

I should have stuck the camera out my upstairs window. Dang kids (and adults I believe) firing them off in my neighborhood right over our greenbelt. That would just make my day if it burned down. Someone already burned down our park play equipment last year! Thank goodness for all the rain..

I must be getting old and cranky... Na. Perhaps it was that I was taking a nap about 30 min ago and was awakened by all the commotion.

I managed to go down to Zilker park. It wasn't as bad as last year, when there was so much fog that you couldn't see anything past the 5th or 6th firework... However, I opted for the park instead of going to the area above Zliker from where you can get the downtown as your background.

Here are some from this evening:

people waiting for the concert;
Howitzer firing during the 1812 Overture
The first few when the sky was still clear
As the time went on, there was more and more smoke in the air ruining the photos :~(

Same here, cops were out driving around writing tickets. I'm glad for the rain too, I'd hate for my house to burn down..

Unfortunately, I am in one of those "grey" areas that are not in a city limits so it is legal and everyone here takes advantage of that!

Mike,

WOW...

Those are the type I would've liked to get, here in Houston. I scouted out some locations last night and had a primary with some fallback sites, but tonight the route turned into an obstacle course and I finally made it just as the show ended.

The part I saw as I drove actually looked pretty impressive, though, and my locations had the visibility I'd hoped for, but they were packed. I really had too much going on today. Hopefully next year won't be as busy and I can get there early.

I was in a neighborhood where it was legal, but way too tired to post tonight.
