on photo credits in my "Best of Family Portrait Photography" book by Bill Hurter and I kept thinking to myself, where have I seen that name before.

I finally put it all together and realized that it was the same Fran Reisner on the forum here.

I'm probably the only person around here who didn't know that but now I do.

Just thought that I'd share that with anyone else who might not know.

Hey Jeffrey. So far as I know there's only one of me (although I've wished for years I could clone myself so I could get more work done! )

Bill Hurter has a number of great photography books out, all published by Amherst I believe. He's the editor of Rangefinder Magazine and one of the "powers that be" at WPPI. All are highly recommended resources to anyone wanting to educate themselves in all aspects of photography and the business of photography.

Thanks for the plug!

Fran,

I think that was just mental slip on my part mostly because I'm sure now that I've seen your name/site pop up on many other forums, in particular as a reference to great portrait photography.

It was just a strange sensation for me as I was reading the book and I realized that you are right here on the local forum, and from your posts you always seem like such a nice down to earth person.

Funny, it's strange to me to find that people are actually surprised to find out that I'm nice and down to earth. Really... I always have been, and I see no reason reason to change that. Stop by some time Jeffrey and see for yourself!

To be honest, I own 3 books by Bill Hurter and never thought to look at the credits.

Fran - how many of his books are you in? I like his style of writing and the examples that he gives.

i don't consider myself extremely talented, but i have friends who are and i think your generalization is lame. there are plenty of un-talented people who fit that description, too!

Hey! Don't reserve those traits for the extremely talented only!

Some of us mere mortals can be that way too

Fran really rocks! Both personally and professionally.

She's not only a talented photographer, but she makes a mean plate of spaghetti.

Fran, you gotta slow down long enough for us to have another little GTG again...

(And my book story was when I was thumbing through a Wedding Portraits book at Borders... saw a bridal and thought.. "that looks like the window at Fran's studio" .... sure 'nuff LOL)

Daniel, Darlin'... you know you are welcome here any time... coming or going! Please stop in for a visit if you're ever in my neck of the woods!

Billy... stock... I'll have to check into that! And thank you.

Kimberly... sweetness... lots of it... like out the wazoo!!

Wes.. I think he's used my images in about 9 of them. And yes... he's a good writer. Good learning. And because of his involvement in WPPI he has got many of the top photographers in the world as resources for his books.
