I am a little POed at FTW Zoo....

I know I was told by people on the forum and I really didn't mind giving my rights to images that I sent to the zoo for the photo contest.
But I really think it is a cheap shot for them to use the images in the Roar magazine and not give the photographer any credit for them. In the front of the magazine they do give the names of the people that provided the images not the ones that took them. I guess these for the people that copied them from the CD.

I am sure a lot if the people here have had their images in the Roar without giving you any credit for them but doesn't it upset you just a little. I have had one of my images in the last 2 Roar magazines and it just kind of got to me today when I got the latest one in the mail.

I guess I will know better next time and just will not send them any images.

I don't send them anything, as much as I'd like to see it in print.
I love the zoo, and give them money. I think their policy sucks.

Well I have been around and I checkup on the people around here just to make sure everything is running smooth......

I get my membership every year but I still think they could give a little credit to the people that take the shots. If nothing else they could say something like images provided but local photographers. But the way they put it in the front it makes you think these are the people that took the shots.

Oh, well I will still go there because I really like the place but I not send them any more images.

If you look in the front of the magazine there is an area like most magazines have with the Editors and the people like that.

There is one that states " Images provided by:" and then list 3 names, I guess these 3 people are the ones that copied them from the CD and sent them to the publisher. So I guess you could say they provided the images.

Bill, perhaps the zoo would listen if they received a petition from photogs. It is pretty easy to this via the Internet (http://www.ipetitions.com/start-petition/). It would not be hard to keep up with the author of the images if they already include this info metadata in the EXIF or properties.
