Vacation places needed - 07-29-2007, 03:55 PM

My family and I will be visiting my wife's friend in Dallas area. Dawn and her family live in Coppell, TX 75019.

We need some some vacation ideas for my kids, mainly the 3 year old twins. Morgan is just 5 months old and she'll just be tagging along for the ride. We will be in town from August 3-10.

Thanks in advance,
-Sonny

Oh Shelley has a great idea. The Grapevine Tarantula steam train. You can get on in Grapevine, and ride all the way down to the Ft. Worth Stockyards. Kids would love that!

Than you Shelley & David for the suggestions so far!

The twins REALLY love going to different parks here in Houston. Can y'all recommend some good ones in the area?

I second the FW Zoo. Also, check out the FW Museum of Science and History which has temporarily been relocated to the Cowgirl Museum. Those are far and above the favorites of my 4 and 5 y.o. boys.

Hmmm....I don't know anything about the parks around here. At least not the good ones. I'm sure someone will chime in , though.

I would also take the kids to the Fort Worth Zoo, it is one of the top 10 zoos in the country.

If you like water parks, there is a Hawaiian Falls Adventure Park in The Colony. Bigger but further away is Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington. It's right across the freeway from Six Flags Over Texas.

Parks... - 07-30-2007, 04:09 PM

Hi Sonny,

Here are a few more suggestions:

Trinity Park in Fort Worth near 7th street has a nice area for feeding ducks and sliding down hills on cardboard!!.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens (lots of water and fountains!).

The Bedford Boys Ranch has ducks, play structures, tennis courts, volleyball and a concrete trail.

Also, Rusty mentioned the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, which right now has the Special Star Wars Exhibit.

Hope you guys have a good time!

Oh, I just thought of something. They might like the Teddy Bear Park in Dallas.
