DFW Night shoot this weekend ? - 08-01-2007, 09:24 PM

Anyone interested in shooting some nightscapes of Dallas or Fort Worth this fri-sat ? I would love to get a couple people together this weekend to shoot (depending on the weather) Dallas or Ft Worth skylines and maybe try a couple other shots also! I saw what looked like a good spot to shoot Dallas from a distance at the on ramp on N. Hampton & I30 , you can pull right in and it looks safe. I am sure there are better spots that some of you may know. Let me know, I am itching for some night shots!

FYI a good spot is exit I think Sylvan (taking IH 30 W from downtown). Park in some abandoned industrial type warehouse parking lot. Climb up/onto the trinity river levee.

Note: This place is scary. A group would be good. Big guys would be better. If I wanted night stuff I would go for sundown and just linger until it is dark. Then leave =-p

I know this photo and stuff is crooked I never redid it and it was a while ago, but this is what you get from the location I described. This is two photos together I think. Be careful with the tilt of the horizon due to you posting up on the side of a levee.

Also note, this was taken a lil after sundown so you get the sunlight reflections in the glassy buildings and still a dark sky.

Sweet maybe we can try going there. Another place I have been wanting to check out is down on Allen street. It would mainly be for street stuff because you wouldn't be able to see any of the skyline.
