Ideas on group locations? - 08-10-2007, 11:42 PM

I've been asked to take pictures of a high school drill team next week. There will be about 25 girls there and they want a location which offers a couple of spots to get them all in on. I'm used to shooting strictly sports and therefore have no location ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For that matter, any offerings on lens choices and setting would be appreciated as well. I have a Canon 1D Mk11N and a 20D, along with a 70-200 2.8, 24-70 2.8, and 85 1.8. Again, this is not something I'm used to so any suggestions would be appreciated.

For lens choices I'd pick 24-70 2.8

That seems like the widest you got. Should get the whole drill team in the picture + some of the scene too.

Well my camera is equipped with a 1000 megasquirtle light sensitive array with a megakilo double widget interface and a pseudo-terrafilter. its got 2 million hexafurtles with a 10 kiloplex and a rechargeable virtual combo-backplate. i also fitted an optical fillyfangle with predictive threshold histogram monitoring. it also has a light sensitive light meter and a time sensitive shutter mechanism.

Thanks Jon. That's what I figured but it's always good to ask for advice from people with more experience.
