Why the discrimination of amateurs?

I wonder, I mean everyone makes prints. Amateurs and professionals, right? Saying "Pro's get a print FREE. Oh, you're an Amateur? Umm.. Sorry... Full price please."

I've been curious about this type of print but I don't see paying for something I might not like. Probably why they offer a print free to pros... so pros can see how awesome it is.

They lose the business of amateurs for this reason, at least my business anyway. I guess they hope portrait and wedding photo shops will start exclusively doing their prints on canvas after the photographer is dazzled by their free $80 canvas print. It's their business, their choice, I just feel left behind in this free revolution.

I'd be happy with an 8x10 canvas. Even if it was a pre-printed sample with some stock photo that wasn't even mine on it. If I could touch and feel the product maybe then I'd drop $60 on an 8x10 and up from there.
Anyone else feel this way?

Well my camera is equipped with a 1000 megasquirtle light sensitive array with a megakilo double widget interface and a pseudo-terrafilter. its got 2 million hexafurtles with a 10 kiloplex and a rechargeable virtual combo-backplate. i also fitted an optical fillyfangle with predictive threshold histogram monitoring. it also has a light sensitive light meter and a time sensitive shutter mechanism.

They will actually accept a blog as long it looks like a semi pro site... not just pictures of your kids... if that makes sense... Anything that shows portfolio work!

Wow they will! Huh? Maybe I don't feel so left in the cold after all. I've got a gallery going on my web server. I'll give it a shot.
