Good catch... Like the way the smaller bolt reaches out to the right.

Might work well with a square cropping to drop the open area on the right.

Really my first attempt.... ended up w/ 180+ frames - this was the only one w/ substantial bolts in it. There was alot cloud lightning - no visible bolts.

I was minding my own business and went outside to water... saw the sky and thought - awe man - I just charged my batteries for a wedding on Sat - I don't want to bother setting up the tripod.

Well I just couldn't resist the call of the sky... Glad I did... even for one photo. This was a 4 sec exposure - ISO 100 - f5.6 - 16mm. Just stood in my yard with a finger on the shutter release... and when the sky lit up - fired away. I almost turned the noise reduction feature of the 20D off 'cause this meant a 4 sec "busy" before I could shoot another frame.
