Fort Worth this morning - 08-19-2007, 06:38 PM

I was up in Fort Worth to visit my sick mom this weekend. I got up early this morning and decided to see if I could find something to photograph at sunrise.

Well my camera is equipped with a 1000 megasquirtle light sensitive array with a megakilo double widget interface and a pseudo-terrafilter. its got 2 million hexafurtles with a 10 kiloplex and a rechargeable virtual combo-backplate. i also fitted an optical fillyfangle with predictive threshold histogram monitoring. it also has a light sensitive light meter and a time sensitive shutter mechanism.

Awesome. These were really beautiful by the way. I love the Fort Worth skyline. Ft Worth is much better than Dallas.

really nice shots! I like the first ones best, but they are all good.

That a great spot to get reflections on the water after dark, tho, it's probably best not to be alone there after dark. I've done it, but I was careful.

Funny thing happened to me while I was there about sunrise. A Fort Worth police (crime scene) van stopped on the east bound lane while I was on the bridge and he turned on his flashers. Right away, I thought to myself, "Surely this isn't some 911 paranoia thing going on". The police officer (Officer Robertson - if I remember correctly) got out and and approached me (while the van is parked with the lites flashing) and struck up a conversation with me. Mentioned he had a 30D, which he used with a 100mm macro, when they couldn't lift prints and needed to photograph them, instead. He stood there with me for at least 20 minutes + and we discussed photography. He told me about a couple of other good spots I should check out in the future, if I wanted to capture some sunrises with the city as a backdrop and mentioned that I should go back down to the river and shoot the small falls by the bridge.

Sounded like a good idea and I told him so and he wouldn't hear of me walking back down the stairs and he invited me into the police van, did a u-turn in the middle of the bridge and drove me back down into the park by the falls. A very pleasant fellow. I did mention TPF and he said he'd check it out sometime.

A really nice random act of kindness.

Great story. The night I was up there by myself, a FW police officer stopped just to be sure I was OK. He didn't stay, but I was impressed. I didn't have any problems.
