Thanks for posting this, Paul!! I need to go see it! I have a major fascination with the Peruvian Amazon, and I hope to go there next year on a trip with Mili Sangama. She's originally from the Amazon, and she wants me to lead some photo tours there. Actually, I was supposed to do that awhile back, but there wasn't enough ppl signed up for the trip to make, unfortunately. I also am supposed to go with her ex husband, a botanist, on a 10 day hike to see and hopefully photograph the Mayoruna Indians. They are still very primitive, they live deep in the jungle, and have only been photographed a few times. They are also known as the "cat people" because they stick quills in their face. Unfortunately, they are head basher indians, so you take a chance when you go in there. He's been in several times. Sometimes, he gets to stay, sometimes he doesn't. Anyway, sounds like this is worth making the trip to Ft. Worth for. Thanks, again! |
