Yeah. We can do it. Perhaps you, me and Hanky can go.

Do you have any locales in mind? Any cool places you've wanted to go for street shooting? Perhaps the stockyards?

Hi,

I'd be up for meeting some fellow fort worth-ers (or is it worthians or, maybe, worthics, whatever). Let me know when and where and, if I'm in town, I will try to make it.

I just love coming home with good pictures and meeting new folks. ;-)

How about Saturday night near sundown. We could do the parking garage and the wards building. I'm also curious if we could get access to the roof of the wards building. If I can find their number I'll call and ask.

What time would you guys be interested in meeting up? I figure we could meet up at the wards building parking lot.

Sounds good. I'm thinking sundown is the best time for softer lighting, pretty sky etc.

The sun sets at 7:49 and so for us to be shooting an hour prior to sunset is a good rule. We could meet at 6:30 to give us time to get in position and chat.

Could you provide the exact parkaging garage, perhaps a link to google maps? Is entree free after 5pm?

And the parking garage you're talking about is the one that Jones street goes through, correct? Just want to make sure it's the right garage.

Okay so here is the gameplan.

GAMEPLAN

LOCATION: 7th floor of Sundance Square Garage II
TIME: 6:30 PM (Saturday, Sept 8th)
LOCATION (google maps) http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...wloc=addr&om=1
The entry point to this garage is on Calhoun Street.

PLANNED SHOOTING VENUES: This garage has a good view of downtown Sundance square and the Bass Hall. A good idea would be to get some shots from the top of the garage and then go down to the street level and walk around on the sidewalks some looking for good things to shoot. Theres an (AMC is it?) theatre with a cool Neon sign and some other things at the street level. Some skyscrapers as well. Depending on how far we want to take it we can walk around the general area looking for interesting subjects and objects to shoot. I also know another (taller) garage within a block or two walking distance.

It would probably be best to keep it to this area of town and not go to the Watergardens as the lights only come on at 7PM and everything shuts down at 10pm so it's not much time to get there and shoot. Watergardens are a good locale but it takes time to drive there and the sundance square has so much to offer that we'd miss the timelime to get to the watergardens or be extremely rushed at the watergardens *1. I'd like to make a night out of this area as there is so much we can shoot in the vicinity. The Montgomery Ward/Plaza is an option depending on what people are feeling like after sun dance square and Garage areas. I would like to get the ward building if time allows us!

*1 (Last time me and Kevin (Yeoman) and Wei from the forums here went to shoot at watergardens. We got at the gardens at like 9:30 and wanted to get stuff in. We were on our last pool and Wei was right in the middle of an exposure when all the lights shut off! We all felt pretty rushed, and we even took time out of other shoots to make it to the gardens.)

HOW TO IDENTIFY US
As said above we will meet on floor 7 of the garage.
* Planespotter will have a red Kia Sportage with NASCAR stickers and an Israeli flag sticker in the back window.
* Jon_K has a 1994 White Chevrolet Pickup (A sticker that says "LINUX USER" on the back window, toolbox in the bed, sticker that says "DEBIAN" on bumper) I will be toting camerea gear and tripod, should be easy to spot.
* cr8iveimages has a white two door Ford Explorer Sport. "Knowing me, I will get there early and be taking some photos. I am a big guy and you will not miss me, that I promise."

Does anyone else want to come? Say so here and I'll add you to the list.

PEOPLE COMING SO FAR
Jon_K (Jon)
Planespotter (Kurt)
cr8iveimages (Jason)

FYI I will edit this post to reflect new changes and updates.

Just in case you are unfamiliar with the workings in Downtown Ft. Worth.
I have been "run off" from shooting from the parking garage, by security. Keep a cool demeanor.
There are numerous "downtown" private security cops who ride around on bicycles, as well as regular FWPD officers on bikes. They can get in your face if you have a tripod, or are generally impeding foot traffic. If you act like tourists I think you'll fare better than if you act like pro photographers. They are nice, but will get tight if you question their authority.
I am going to a TCU / UT football party, or I'd be joining you guys/gals.
Have fun, and post your best here.
