nice shots, I like the first one best.

you can take in a monopod without charge, but to take in a tripod, you must pay their fee, which last time I checked was $75.00.

Thanks for the comments!

I'll have to try the monopod thing. But if we're getting that technical, think a "quad-pod" would work? ;)

The background was blurred through the lens using a low aperture. If you're talking about a certain "radiant glow" then that's the Orton Effect. :)

Just ask about the monopod when you buy your ticket to go in.

I just went to it's homepage to check some information out... and I saw they actually post a "red leaves" picture there... anyone has been there for previous years at "that time of the year"? I used to think the "closest" location for the kinda shots is Lost Maple Park ....but it's still so "far", if that's available at FW, that's awesome!!!

Roland,
My favorite is 'Bridge.' I love the graphical design of the image.

Karena,

Yes, the JG has some wonderful fall color, depending on the year, rainfall, etc. of course.

Be sure to check it out this fall.

One thing to be aware of, is that the JG does not have the common native trees to this area, so they may turn color sooner or later than the native oaks we see everywhere in this area. It is easy to check out the color from their parking lot without paying to go in.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll have to check out the JG during fall as well and bring a monopod.

*edit* Make that LATE fall... cause it technically is fall right now...

IF someone will check it out, MAKE SURE you come up and share!!!

That's really attractive if I don't have to drive like 8 hrs to go Lost Maple, and then I didn't see any "red leaves" there, just "yellow" at the most.....I went there last year, maybe that's a really bad choice, it was so dry througout the whole year.....
