Hey everyone! A fellow photographer and I are planning a trip to the Dallas Arboretum on Saturday to take portraits of each other. Neither of us have had any taken in a few years, so we figured we could get the practice and some updated photos. I haven't been here in so long, but I'm looking very forward to it. Me, still being a beginner, and not having much experience with portraits, was wondering what kind of clothing would be appropriate for this setting? I've been pulling my closet apart for something nice, but I can't seem to put my finger on anything particular. I was wondering what style, colors... Anything! This would also help me for the future when I begin photographing others. Please let me know! Thanks so much! Sorry this is a dumb question... I'm very new to all of this.

Families take pictures of kids in shorts and flipflops standing next to flowers, and brides - in full regalia - have their formal portraits made, um ..., standing next to flowers.
Really, you can go casual or formal, or anything in between and find a good setting. There's the flowers, trees, buildings, sculpture, etc. Full shade, open sun, in between ... | | | |

Thanks to both of you!
Zach :: Great site you gave! I have seen a few of the photos from the first site, but never knew who took them!
David :: Great point! Like I said, I knew this was a dumb question, but I figured I would ask anyways. I'm horrible with style... Haha!

Don't say you're planning a trip and not invite others!
I've never been, would you guys want to meet up and let me come shoot stuff too? Are there fee's and stuff to get access? Any additional fee's for photography? Let me know what time and stuff and see if I can come too.

Oh great! I'm so sorry! How rude of me! :D http://www.dallasarboretum.org is the website! It has all the info on there... I believe it's $8 to get in, but according to the website, it doesn't have any extra fees to shoot or anything. Correct me, if I'm wrong, please. Haha!
I'll have to find out exactly what time we are going, but if anyone else would care to join, that would be awesome! The more the merrier! Let me know!

I don't think we're leaving Sherman til around noon, which will put us down there around 1, or a little later... She has to get new tires on Saturday morning. Haha! Think you can pull some people together?
