Was the last one a small aperture or starfilter? The pictures are beautiful. I like taking pictures in sundance square. --------------------------- Well my camera is equipped with a 1000 megasquirtle light sensitive array with a megakilo double widget interface and a pseudo-terrafilter. its got 2 million hexafurtles with a 10 kiloplex and a rechargeable virtual combo-backplate. i also fitted an optical fillyfangle with predictive threshold histogram monitoring. it also has a light sensitive light meter and a time sensitive shutter mechanism. |

Very nice, Jerry, and inspiring. Ever since last Fall, I've had a project on the back burner to get down to my favorite downtown after dark with my tripod and take pictures. Now, I'm gonna do it.   |

Sony DCS-F717 on a tripod. F4 is the sweet spot in this Zeiss lens, so that's what I like to use at night. the "star flare" is from F4 aperture in the 3rd shot, I had a Star-4 filter on it the 4th shot. Usually the star filter over powers the image, and I rejected a couple because of that. I like my Star-6 filter much better, but I couldn't find it, tho it was right there in my filter wallet. DOH! The flash didn't fire because I had the camera set to external flash, but didn't have the flash on the hot shoe. Jon, IMHO, they screw up more shots than they make, but I love giving them a try. When they work, they work. I have noticed that the fewer "points" they make the longer the "rays" and the less control you have. The more "points" = shorter "rays". Distance to the subject (or the bright points of light) makes a great deal of difference. Also, it seems, the strength of the points of light. Here's one of my rejects.
