Hi all! I'm new to this forum and hope to learn some good locations in my home town for photographic opportunities, as well as learning to become a better photographer!

I'm strictly ameture, with no aspirations beyond this as a hobby, but I want to be the best I can, nonetheless!

My current rig is a Panasonic Lumix FZ8 with a Raynox 250 Super macro 2.5X for closeups. I've only had both less than a month, having bounced my old digicam off of the tile at a wedding in August...

Any way, I guess a sample of what I've been taking is as good a way as any to let you get to know my style and me in general, so here's a few of what I consider my better shots. Please feel free to critique, because that's why I'm here!

Thanks!
Robb

Torturing my roommate at a party

These were both taken up in Oklahoma last weekend on a wild hair roadtrip to Turner Falls

Here's a few from the Dallas World Acquarium the first weekend after buying this camera:

I guess they sleep standing up!

And finally, this last pic was taken with my old Olympus C5500... nice little camera for the time I had it :)

Welcome aboard, Robb. Great close-up photos.

Just a suggestion: you might want to keep your horizontal measurement for posted images to 800 pixels for easier viewing.

In any event, post away.

Will do! (Sorry, I have one of those wide-aspect monitors and forget others don't necessarily...)
