D200 & 28-70 2.8 lens Issue - 09-25-2007, 11:07 AM

My D200 battery indication was flashing that the bat was low, but when I check the battery status is showed that the batteries were fine (100% & 90%). I have the MB-200; I have checked that the connections and everything looks fine.
Anyone have any suggestions on this issue? It does not have all the time.

I am also have an issue with the camera auto focusing, but I think the issue may be with 28-70 2.8 lens

I had that problem this weekend at a wedding I was shooting. It turned out that the battery grip loosened through use. At first I thought it was the batteries dieing so I recharged them. As they were recharging I thought to myself that they died really quick. Then it occurred to me that the grip may have come loose. Sure enough! As soon as I screwed it back in and popped in the batteries, I was shooting away again.

Always have backup gear!

The grip was the first thing I check but it was not loose.

Thanks,

Don

I might have had something similar to this with my D80 awhile back. I would turn the camera on, battery indicator was fine, try to take a shot and then the battery indicator would immediately flash that the battery was dead. Turn the camera off/on and it might start to work or I might have to off/on again.

The problem seemed to occur from a bad connection from the lens to the lens body. I took the lens off/on and the problem went away. I have not had the problem since.

Not sure it is the same problem, but thought I would share.
