Great shots as always! I didn't see them but I could hear something flying overhead today at a high rate of speed. By the time I got out there they were long gone.

Do you live next to the base?

I live next to Ellington Field and they were busy as well. I can go out on the porch and see them take off and land, or hear them at least.

We had 6 C-130s come in.

That would be typical. The pilots go to Fort Worth and the luggage goes to Houston!

I live about 5 miles away from the base. I heard yesterday (Thursday) that they were expecting many aircraft and went out there today and sure enough it was pretty busy. We had a few C-130's, about 15 F-15's from Louisiana and Florida. . and several assorted trainers. This happened last year also when other hurricanes came around. . . Alliance Airport just north of here usually gets some evacuees also. . . I think last year they had like 50-60 trainers fly in there.

I may go out with my camera tomorrow and see if there are going to be more. Since it is not an actual military field we don't get many fighters. Lots of liaisons and trainers. We also tend to get lots of Navy such as F/18 in on a regular basis.

It is like a mini air show!

Great shots..........you have a plane from several branches of our Military. My son is in the Air Force, stationed up in NJ while completing Tech School. He is "Boomer" and is in one plane guiding the boom to a plane below for refueling.

I am attaching a few pics of one of his contacts..........while he is guiding this boom to the plane below, another Airman took a few pics of this.......I am a Proud Airforce Mom :D

Please remember to Pray for our Troops.....

I agree wholeheartedly.

My brother flys 737's for the NAVY out of NASJRB.

Here are a few that he has taken.

I work on the other side of the runway from the base and it was definately different seeing al those aircraft sitting out there this morning. I have heard from several F-16 pilot's that the boom operators can hold up some, well interested viewing material from time to time while they are refueling. :o
