Hey everyone, nice to be the new guy.

Now, on to what I really need. I've been "playing" around with photography for a while, but now I'm trying to become more serious. I'm not really looking to go Pro or anything, but I really want to treat photography as an art an show this art the respect it deserves.

I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation some local classes that can help me out. I've read all the photography books I can get my hands on, and I understand theory like the inside of my viewfinder, but I need a little push in the creativity department. I'd love to find a class or ever a club to will help me expand my art. I love urban/street photography and I find myself getting tugged in that direction always, but I'd like to do more portraiture.

If anyone has any suggestions for some local classes, club, books, anything...I'm all ears.

I just finished Grad School and got nothing but time on my hands, please help me fill it .

Depending on where you live, here are two local clubs...

PLano http://www.planophotographyclub.com/

Dallas http://www.dallascameraclub.org/

Thanks for the info, I'll take a look. I'm a lot closer to Fort Worth, so anyone with info on Fort Worth based organizations would be great.

Welcome to the forums! :)

Here's one in Ft Worth
http://www.hopechurch.com/cameraclub/

There's also several PPA chapters in the area, so that might be worth looking into as well.

TCU has a non-credit Saturday class in the fall.
TCC in Hurst also has regular credit classes in the fall. They are inexpensive.
