Photojournalist Job Opening - 07-11-2005, 05:07 PM

I came across this job opening for anyone wanting to travel extensively to Asia as a photojournalist. I don't know anything about the group but could be quite an experience for a young or single photographer.

CARROLLTON Texas -- If God is calling you to do something eternally significant with your life to help reach the most unreached in this world for Christ, then Gospel for Asia may be the place for you. We have the following positions open:

Photojournalists: Shoot portraits and still-life images as needed for GFA publications and staff, with extensive photojournalism shooting assignments in Asia. Use 35mm film and digital camera systems and studio lighting systems. Coordinate shooting assignments and conduct periodic training of field correspondents based in various Asian locations. Retouch and print photos using Adobe PhotoShop and other digital imaging software as needed. Also will do digital image printing and coordinating with photographic service providers as needed. Must be able to travel extended time periods and be adaptable and flexible in various challenging cultural settings, climates and living conditions. An associates or bachelor's degree in photography or photojournalism is helpful. Required: several years of photojournalism and/or professional photography experience; knowledge and experience working with 35mm film and digital camera systems; experience with studio lighting systems. Organizational skills and the ability to teach are very important. Experience with Mac and PC computers is important. Experience using graphics and office software applications such as MS Office, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator is very helpful. Good physical condition and health is important.

If you are interested in serving God at Gospel for Asia please visit our web site at http://www.gfa.org/staff/index.html or e-mail: taunc@gfa.org for more information. Support raising is normally required but we will consider paying a salary on a case by case basis.
