I'm so sad to hear about Rocky and Gizmo. I drive my daughter by to see if Gizmo is out fairly often since we live near there. She will be so sad and it will be hard to get out of the habit of going that way. Do they have one of the other tigers in Rocky's old cage? It seemed to be the best the times I was there. Put me down as tentative for March 28th. Thanks!

To those of you that have attended a Tiger Shoot and have had the opportunity to meet the owners - Missy, Tom, Rob and Ann - here is a tribute to Rocky from them.


A Friend

A friend often is described as someone you can depend on, no matter what.

I think a friend is also someone who depends on you in the same way;
someone who enjoys the moment when he first sees you, no matter how
much time has passed.

Rocky was our friend. We all marveled within ourselves just to be in his
presence. He was magnificent and we were humbled to be with him.

In a way, he was kind and gentle, and yet he was a beast. He was our friend
and his presence amazed us.

We miss our friends when they leave. We probably hope that we will have
friends that will miss us when we leave. We are sad for a while, but then
happy about the Promise.

We sorely miss our friend, Rocky and know now that he is in Heaven, lying
with the lambs as God promised. He'll be with our other friends, as with
Mike, who God used to help bring us the gift of living so close to these
spectacular animals that we become friends.

It is hard to say goodbye when it's time, but we must remember that it's
only a temporary separation. We will live again, to love each other in a way
we can't imagine, with the Lord, as he has promised. Thank you for being
our friend, Rocky.
