I don't like #2. Just something about it.

I agree. #5 makes me feel peaceful.

#6 makes me want to reach in and touch it. Very nice.

Which garden is this? Doesn't look like Dallas, I was just there a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks, y'all! Mike's right, it's the Ft. Worth gardens. #5 was the view above when inside the little gazebo. I love that place!

If anyone is planning on going there, or to the zoo, post a note, and maybe we can get together for a shoot.

Nice ones, Rachel. I didn't see any snakes when I was there.

You got the bridge shot that I didn't get due to not having the right lens on the camera. I'm going with my 70-200 next time.

Actually, those are from an earlier trip. I haven't been recently, but I want to go!

I might be there Saturday. My roommate and his fiancee want a nice "engagement pic" to pass out to the fam, and I've been shanghai'd into taking the pics...

Question: This is a complete freebie, and will be taken off of a collapsible monopod. (I'm ametuer at best) Will the authorities be giving me a hard time about shooting a portrait on site? I plan on the pics being fairly quick, and not overly posed, so I'm hoping not.

(I've seen a photographer literally spend an hour on one pose, and I wasn't that impressed with the pic when all was said & done)

I was there last Sunday and the security guard asked me if I was there shooting professionally or not. I guess everyone who has a camera is a professional ?? Not sure if he was wanting me to buy a permit or not, but I was in the rose garden when he asked me.

If you use a tripod, they will charge a $75 fee. If you're there as a professional, the fee applies. However, they won't charge for a monopod or if you tell them that you're making free pictures for your friend.

The bird (heron?) in the forth one freaked me out when I went a little while back. I walked down to the water over by the moon bridge and I thought it was a cool (very life-like) statue about 2 feet away from me.....until it turned it's head and looked me in the eyes.
