I am looking for some good locations in Dallas. Dirty brick buildings, would love ones with graffeti (sp) on them, old trains, Some good steps. Would prefer some locations that aren't well known possibly, that I don't have to wait my turn in line and then hurry through my shots while someone else waits on me *LOL* Grapevine, Lewisville, around these areas.

Appreciate it!!!!!!!

A great place is in downtown ft. worth off henderson - at the old US Post Office building by the railroad tracks. That place is huge, very delapidated, some graffiti, and great atmosphere... I have some shots of it I could put up online if you were interested.

Old Buildings! - 10-22-2007, 03:23 PM

Hey!! There are some great brick walls and lots of graffiti in Deep Ellum. If you look at the thread that says" Post your Trash the Dress Pictures here" there are some pictures! It can be a pretty scary place at night but if you go before 4pm it isn't bad at all!

I've seen the Deep Ellum photos, and LOVE that wall. Just not sure if I feel comfortable taking a bunch of teenage girls down there and myself *L* I'm a wuss for unfamilar places..so was looking for something a little more close to home. But might have to venture down that way if I can't find anything else!!

Thanks for responding!!!

In my experience, the places with the most old buildings and such are the areas that typically you want to keep young people away from. At least Deep Ellum is patrolled by police. If you go in the morning, the light is good and there are very few people around.

The post office is probably the one exception - last time I was there (a few weeks ago) they were doing construction just in front of the building - redoing the street.. for some reason.. I think they might be refurbishing that building - either way - as bad as it looks, it's in a nice part of town.

Oh sorry!! This board is so new to me, I forget to check some things!! And I'm awful about getting the email, opening it, then getting sidetracked by a kiddo then forgot what I was doing by the time I get back *L*

I do like that location. I like some of the rust, metal door looking things. And there was a spot that would be cool to stand up on if it was wide enough, I couldn't tell if the ledge was wide or not.

We ended up in Downtown Grapevine and at the Creek for her VBall shoot.
