D200 photographers? - 11-02-2007, 09:09 AM

Okay ya'll, I live in Collin County and I'm struggling to learn how to use my D200. I would love to meet up with other D200 photographers, do some shooting, and hopefully learn more about correct settings, etc. I'm open to wildlife/birds, botanical gardens, etc....

I can help you with your camera.
Though, I'm a convert to Canon. I used to use D200, but just wanted to try on Canons.

Oh, my bride to be just told me she bought a D200 and is looking to shoot with other people. I just told her about this place, so I will have to have her get in touch with you. She lives in Commerce, but Im sure she would be willing to drive to Collin County area.

I've had a D200 since 12/15/05 (launch day).

Got any specific questions? What was your previous Nikon body? I went D70->D200 and can give you some specific pointers if you did the same.

I think a D 200 get together would be great. I do not claim to be an expert but seeing what others do would be great.

I'd be up for it. I've had a D200 since January. I could probably teach a few things, but I'm sure I'd learn a ton, too.

I'd be down for a D200 gtg in the Plano area. I have had my D200 since Feb. 2006. I won't say I an expert with it. I know some stuff but could def learn a ton! :)

I'd be interested, too. Date, time and place to get started?

Well, I'd like to propose we all meet at java Co at Coit and Park for coffee and then discuss shooting locations. Just to name a few places that I'm familiar with.....

Hagerman Wildlife Refuge (1 1/2 hr drive)
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Heard Museum (McKinney)
Dallas Zoo

Now, I'd like to know which day would work out the best. I'm a stay home Mom and right now have 2 craft shows I'm in the middle of. I'm open to suggestions too about places to shoot. My whole objective is to learn how to use my D200 more effectively.

I might be interested depending on time/date etc. I could care less what or where we shoot, but the closer the better for me.

I am no longer a Nikon Shooter, just went to the dark side a few weeks ago, but...How many of you post process with CaptureNX?? If not I would take a serious look into it as it does a wonders with the RAW format over PS IMO.

Raw images? It also does wonder with my JPGs.
I still use CaptureNX for my Canon JPG files.

I use Nikon Capture NX and Elements 5

On the Vet's parade, I can't do it - have a 2 day craft show at St Joseph.
