Question A wild thought I had ~!! - 11-03-2007, 01:36 PM

After reading the interest in the Nikon D200 users wanting to get together. It started me thinking about a get together. I noticed on another thread someone mentioned the Guadalupe National Park having really great color right now. Well it is only about 8 hours from here so why don't we plan a camera safari there. I also was thinking we have some really great talent on this thread and we could all pitch into a fund and hire someone to lead and give instruction. The positives would be being out there and removed from distractions we could get better concentration and we also would be able to have discussions of problems we have in real time and real location. I would be willing to rent some lens I do not have and what little I have I would gladly let others try. I realize this is very general but if others are interested then lets look further. Sometimes I come up with ideas that even scare me !!!

Really? I was just looking at their website yesterday and they are calling the color limited to moderate.

I suspect another week is needed for the best color unless we get a cold front before then.

I'm headed North to eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas in a week or so for the color. It is actually a shorter drive than Guadalupe from North Texas.

I will be swinging through Caddo Lake State Park on the way to get the color change there.

Here is a link to some shots taken there about a week ago.

There is a National park along the buffalow river that is AMAZING for Photo ops! I went there when I was younger. Unfortunaly I had a disposable camera in our canoe and it tipped over and I lost ALL my film and other stuff! Here is a link. Hope it helps: http://www.nps.gov/buff

I'm going to the Quachita National Forest area. Harrison is up near Buffalo National River and the Ozark National Forest. A beautiful area but further than I have time to travel to.
