Okay, I'm not sure what went wrong today - timing, job schedules, or what. I really would like to meet other D200 photographers in my area to learn how to use the camera better and find people to shoot with. I'm open to suggestions about when most people would be available. I'm a stay home Mom, so I'm available almost any time during the day and part of the weekends. If no one is interested then I'll forget about it.
My favorite meeting spot is Java & Cha Co. at Coit and Park (by the $1 theater)

The hubby and I waited around about 30 min and then came back home. I thought at least 2 people were supposed to come, but didn't. In the original post that I started, I had mentioned having another go at it on Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Dunno if this would work or not. We may end up waiting until after Thanksgiving to start this if no one can come.

I won't be able to make it Sunday, but let's try a Thursday in December. Even if it's just the two of us.

Well, I"m really curious here.......
Are there really any D200 people around here or all Canon? I really am interested in getting together with some of ya'll and learning how to use my D200.. Since I'm available most of the time - especially during school hours, how about some of ya'll telling me when you're available?

For those of us who want to learn how to use our cameras better, get over the frustration of it by learning from others more experienced. I learn faster from others than I do from books. So, you're welcome to join in if we can just get people interested!

I do not claim to be any expert but would love to exchange info and ideas with everyone. | Well the last time and really the only time I tried this was on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago. I even made a cute sign with the Nikon logo for D200 group. Getting people together is the hard part! I really do want to learn how to use this camera - if I can't then I may as well sell it! Anyway, If I can just get people to respond and be there, then perhaps we'll get somewhere with this! I know I'm not the only one that needs help. ANd thanks for your kindness to help!

Cajun Angel:
I totally understand your frustration. Its nice to have someone else to at least bounce ideas and questions off of. Let me know I will come. I know you have tried to make an effort and hey don't sell the camera, you have put together a nice array of lenses and the camera is a great one plus you have too much want to to stop now. Say there was a nice article in the latest popular photography about a guy that learned to use his camera. You might want to look at that. Ill bring the magazine when I come.

Dave I really appreciate what you just said - not sell the camera - I've been so darned frustrated!
When are you usually available? If nothing else, maybe we could go somwhere and just start shooting at something. My hubby knows his way around Hagerman Wildlife Refuge pretty good if you like birds and critters. We have a truck and van - I have a wonderful wildlife beanbag type tripod that I just love! If that article is in the latest issue of populare photography, I'll have one today! My D200 should be back home from Chicago by Wednesday.

Cajun Angel;
I am pretty much open as far as time goes. I am in the insurance business so I am not locked down to a 8 - 5 job. I just have to be available as clients need my time. Sure the hagerman would be great. Lets start with a meet and talk then go from there. I had thought the get togethers like I noticed on this site where everyone went and shot pics of downtown was a great Idea. I am open to any suggestions. Lets just keep the desire going. I am no expert but maybe exchanging ideas will help.
Here is a link to the article I spoke about. It is the December issue of popular photography http://www.popphoto.com/popularphoto...-freshman.html

Here is a link to the article I spoke about. It is the December issue of popular photography http://www.popphoto.com/popularphoto...-freshman.html | WOW, what an article! I have a D50 too, and have the same books. I guess my old noodle isn't absorbant any more or something! I'm going to give you my phone #'s so that you can call us. I know my hubby wants to go atv'ing this coming Saturday (I'd rather go shooting!) and I have to go in order to keep up with our 3 kids - they have their own bikes too. My # at home is 972 867 6128 and my cell # 972 741 4629, and then my hubby's # is 214 882 0683 and his name is Mark. IF you want to meet for coffee, my favorite place is Java & Cha Co at Coit and Park here in Plano. If you have a dirtbike or atv, and would like to tag along with us on that just let me know. I'm not sure if we're staying over night or just going for the day. And then, it also depends on the weather. So anything could go as of now!
