Camera help - 11-27-2007, 08:33 PM

Ok this is more of a im a dummy i would like some help kind of thread. I bought a Sony A100 a few months back and it was my first DSLR. Before that i had been using a Sony F707 and had for a very long time. I have never taken any photography class's and i tried a few online. However i suck when it comes to learning anything from the internet or any video for that matter. I have to have hands on help, i pick things up really quick that way. I was wondering if there is anyone in the North Richland Hills area that would like to meet up now and then and take some photos. Also so i can kinda get help on proper settings and such. I know i have a pretty decent eye for photography but i really need to start learning how to use the camera properly now. Plus i would also like to find someone or someones whom i could go shooting with. A lot of the time i find myself alone or with my fiance who isn't always pleased with me having a camera planted against my face the whole time lol.

First, I'd suggest getting Bryan Peterson's book, Understanding Exposure. It is an excellent guide with clear, non-technical explanations, which you can then put into practice.

Hey CJ, if your fiance is not into photography don't take your camera when you're with her or try getting her involved. Try joining the Fort Worth Camera club. Also looking into the community colleges and see what classes they offer. I know that's what I did here in the Dallas area. Just remember to have fun with what you are shooting.
