I want to show my Yellowstone photos from the summer in a gallery but don't even know where to start looking. Can anyone give me any suggestions on who I can talk to to put up a display for viewing? I hate that people cannot see some of my work, I have a panorama that a friend of my wifes came over and said she had never seen anything like it in her life, she could not turn away from the print and it made me feel great. She said that that photo needs to be shared with the public and not just hang in my house. So it got me thinking and I want to do it, maybe even get some sales that way. Any suggestions please PM me or post here. Thank you.

edit: sorry I did not fully read it the first times so I gave you stuff for web gallery's not physical gallery's for prints.....

there are many free options such as googles picasa web albums

http://picasaweb.google.com

Pbase
http://www.pbase.com/

Flicker
http://www.flickr.com

These have some templates but you are stuck with the few layouts. you could also go the google route and set up a blog as well with googles blogger, and link your picasa web album photos to your bog. its all free.

https://www.blogger.com/start

now if you want have a web host store your files so you can create your own design then you need to find a web host company and come up with a domain name. you will have way more options this way and it can go for about $5 a month up to several hundred a month depending on what type of service you want.

I think the really hot spot right now is RedBubble.com. I have sold 16 photographs there so far. It is really more on the sociable side, so don't expect to get any real criticism on your photographs.

I am currently donating all of my RedBubble proceeds from greeting card sales to the M.D Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. My dad is battling stage 4 gall bladder cancer.

If you sign up, tell them I referred you. I think there is a drawing or something for referrals.

Are there any places in the DFW area that you can actually hang your prints for display? I am more looking to show my work in a store, mall, airport, resturant, etc... Anyone know of any places that will let you display your photos in this manner? I will look at the suggestions above also. Thanks!

there are a few starbucks locations near me in Houston that allow photographers/artist hang work for sale or just to display for a short time. Maybe try a few places like that, it never hurts to ask....

I have heard that Starbucks will let you hang your work. Have to made any sales doing this? I have a Pano that I really want to sale and know that I can make a pretty penny from it, I have it on my wall right now and would love to see it displayed for the public. Any other locations?

I think that Dunn Bros Coffee (at least the one in Frisco) allows artist showcasing. I had a friend play his guitar there and they had local artists works on the walls.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Please accept my good thoughts and prayers for his recovery. That's very generous of you to donate the proceeds of your photo sales to MDACC.

There's another popular site called www.smugmug.com. I've never used them but they do have gallery-type services.

John,
You can try this. http://www.afterimage.com/inquiry.htm

Check out the whole site. It is worth the trip to check out the Gallery in person.

you could try community art centers or libraries. I know the Dallas Public Library and the Fort Worth Public Library each have galleries. I've seen artwork hanging in the Barnes and Noble in Southlake too. Also some Starbucks like someone else said. There is also a coffee shop in Denton called Art Six that displays artwork as well. i had a friend that had some photos displayed there.
