Anyone planning on going to this:

Julie and I will be stopping there tomorrow night sometime. We're taking a stretch Hummer H2 Christmas Light tour and that is listed as one of the stops. It looks to be really cool!

Didn't make it last year but plan to this year. Not sure when though.

Rich,

Here's the schedule that I know of:

7:00 Leaves Shops of Legacy Marriott
Goes to Highland Park
Goes to University Park
Goes to Gaylord Hotel for ICE!
Goes to some house in Carrollton that has the most lights in Texas?
Goes to Deerfield
11:15 Returns to Shops at Legacy

That's all I know about... in addition to the free drinks.

I went last year and hope to make it this year. It is amazing what they can do with the ice.

Yes, I have been to the ICE exhibit - went on Thanksgiving Day. It is definitely worth doing once in your life, though I'm not sure I'd pay that much $ to do it again. It is really super cold and even though they give you coats to wear, I'd make sure I was wearing closed-toed shoes and it wouldn't hurt to take along a pair of gloves. They do let you take pictures, but with the extreme cold and the lighting, it's difficult to capture the detail and beauty. Most of my pics have family members in them, but here are a few that don't. The colored ice is really cool too.

I was wondering about camera function in that cold. Everything works okay??

We went to ICE! tonight and they've almost completely redone the exhibit. There are still familiar sculptures but they've replaced some tired designs with a lot of new stuff.

Took the D3 as this was my first "real world" opportunity (something nice and dark, something I've shot various times in the past). I'll post the results in another thread. In short, the cold should have no effect on your cameras performance (charge the battery before going though).

It's worth checking out. It's incredibly creative. The Gaylord itself is all decked out including a 30 foot white rotating Christmas tree, 14 model trains and probably one of the coolest Santa's in North Texas.

There's also a reindeer with one antler.

You can email Charles Morton at Charles@TexasSuvLimos.com and ask him directly.

We basically turned our "chiristmas light tour" into a booze cruize since it was raining the entire time. By the time we got to the Gaylord, we were all hammered and we didn't even go in. Julie and I will have to go another time by ourselves.

I went tonight before going to a "fancy dinner". I got there after driving around following their arrows and ended up having 1 hour before dinner and about 200 people in line in front of me so I figured I wouldn't have time. Don't think I will ever go through that beating again.

BTW, if you go to the restaurant or Wine Bar they will validate your parking. I didn't even have to buy anything. ( I asked nicely :) )
