Bridges Cemetary - 12-16-2007, 03:54 AM

I drive by this cemetary each and every day and have always wanted to take some photos. I had the time and decided to pull over and take a few shots... and freeze to death in the process. I had to jump the fence because it is chained shut. Also, I only had my "walking around" 18-200mm lens with me so I couldn't get as creative as I wanted.

These were all processed in Lightroom and PS2. I used Imagenomic's RealGrain and AlienSkin B&W film filters. These are primarily the ones I used:
* Fujifilm Neopan 100 Acros
* Ilford Delta 400 - Increased Dark/Light Grain Balance to +9
* Kodak Tri-X 400TX
* Ilford Delta 100

Enjoy!

All very nice but I really like the 3rd one. It captures my attention. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job, looks like a little history treasure you've got there. The last few are fairly sad (3 month old and 2 year old).

Agree on #3, nice grab on that one.

Yes, it was quite sad and engaging. I was difficult to concentrate on the photography and composition because the head stones cause feelings that is distracting. There were a lot of born/died the same day head stones.

For example, I were two of these head stones about three feet apart. This couple had twins and they both died on the same day! That threw me off so much that I simply ended up with this boring shot:

Oh, and it was soooo cold that my hands were numb and I almost couldn't get back over the fence. I got stuck on the top for a minute and then had to just suck it up and jump.

Wil, excellent work. A lot of emotion in those pictures, but it's your composition and processing that brings out those emotion. Very well done.

Wil;
I like the sepia on the last. It makes it look really old but the others look fine to me without the sepia. I think it all amounts to what look your going for. the composition is great.
