My ICE! visit - 12-18-2007, 09:37 PM

Took the wife and kiddos to the ICE! exhibit. It was pretty "cool"!

I really liked the penguins for their color and expressions.

The Gaylord also has some incredible lights and decorations including a great model train setup with a neat looking town.

So I guess you were in your "I ain't a working professional" costume ?
Taking the wife and kids was a good cover. I guess the Gaylord folks haven't figured out that a brand spanking new Nikon D300 is a professional camera.

Nice shots. So called "tack sharp" and very brillian colors. Huraaay Nikon ...

I actually saw a couple of photographers with tripods walking through and setting up shots of the exhibit. I also contributed to my local pro and bought one of their $15 photos of me with the family since I'm never in any of my shots. I even let my 11 y.o. take a shot of mom and dad with the new D300. (I made sure the strap was securely around his neck.)

It's at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine off of Highway 26, near Bass Pro Shops and Grapevine Mills Shopping Center.

#4 looks like it was snapped by someone atop a hill overlooking the town. It looks so authentic. Very good shot.

I personally thought that thing was a rip-off for the size of it.

Used the 17-55 f/2.8 and pretty much stayed on ISO 1600.
