Here we go. Kinda generic, but should be a good topic to start the "Best Place" threads.
Please give your opinion, your lens choice, and maybe a photo or two to help solidify your nomination (not really needed, but would be nice).
This isn't a competition, its just for fun and inspiration. ***Abel, do you want me to start the same thread in the Houston forum? Or come up with another topic?***
Here's a generic entry:

Lake Arlington
Ducks, Geese, Egrets, and Herons. Because these birds are fairly "tame," it's a good place to practice photo techniques for the more skittish and far-off birds. One doesn't need super-long glass, but at least up to 300mm is probably wise.
These "honkers" were announcing to everybody that a potential food source had newly arrived: me.

Where exactly is this place? | Its off of 199 going north toward Azle from Ft. Worth. I came across it by accident on my way to visit my daughter in Azle. I have a bunch of shots I took within just a few minutes of Egrets, Night Herons, GBH, and numerous smaller birds.

These are all great. There are some really nice shots and some interesting locations.
I will post a new "Best Place" thread Friday, if anyone has a special request for a topic, just PM me. First come First serve. If I get more than one request, we'll just queue them up.

White Rock Lake has a lot of birds. Spillway, and along both sides....I currently don't have the lens for it though. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
