It looks a bit basic, but with Bob Krist involved it has me interested. Also a nature oriented one in Houston in March.

Thanks for sharing the link. $195 seems like a lot for something fairly basic. But it is a day long event.

I checked this out last year and although it did not include Bob Krist, I can tell you it didn't seem worth it at all. It was a group of fine photographers with terrific images but it was more of a love fest than a learning experience. Each photog talked about their images but didn't share much in the way of technique or approach.

I went because they talked of putting together a story while traveling, a way to plan out your travel photos so when you returned you could put together a cohesive collection from start to finish. It did not deliver.

It was so bad (to me) that I left after half a day. They should change the title to "Inspirational Travel Photography". That would be a more accurate description.

But as Scott says - YMMV.

Outdoor Photographer put on a similar seminar last summer but it was a 2-day event and the price was lower. There was a day on travel photography with Bob Krist and a day on Photoshop/DAM with another guy. I only went to the first day, and while Krist was an entertaining speaker it wasn't really an educational session. It was mostly anecdotes and talking about his pictures. He did talk a little about the "storytelling" aspect but there wasn't any real techniques or hard info, just generalities. For the $60 or so I paid it wasn an entertaining way to pass a Saturday afternoon, but if I had paid $200 I definitely would have felt ripped off.

Thanks for the feedback. I was on the border after reading the description & price, but I think I'm going to pass with what you two have said.
