Great shots, love the Cheetah. Everytime I go they are way in the back and not facing for a good shot. Love to see more animals if you can. Thanx

Thanks Albert - 01-07-2008, 05:43 PM

We bought the season tickets for the family this year for Christmas, and Saturday was the first day we had a chance to go. That was my first time to the Dallas Zoo in 5 years. Enjoyed it, and hope to get more time later for other animals.

I love these shots. I dragged my lil sis with me to the OKC Zoo on Sun since it was so nice...just had to go shoot!...I would love to go to the Dallas Zoo sometime and see how they compare!

If you're zoo hopping, the Fort Worth Zoo is one that's not to be missed!

Oh, and be warned. Both zoos close at 4pm :p

A good time to go is on a warm day after we had a few cold days because the animals have been inside and they are more active on that first day out. That was one of the reasons I went Saturday as well. The Dallas Zoo tries to stay open to 5:00 but the weather has not allowed it too much, so for the winter hours they close at 4:00. Best time to catch tigers active are first thing in the morning and then around 1:00pm as they change out the tigers in the exhibit. Chimps get fed at 2:30 and that's always fun to watch as well, not sure if that is everyday or on the weekends. It's a treat thing I believe so it might just be the weekend.

By the way, nice photos you posted.

Thanks for the compliments- - 01-09-2008, 04:42 PM

I love going to any zoo, just to try to improve my skills. As I mentioned earlier, this was the first time to the zoo in here in Dallas in several years. I was with my wife and 14 year old daughter, so didn't get a chance to spend as much time as I wanted on the individual animals. Had a good time though. We went to the Ft Worth Zoo a couple years ago as well, and it rocks. I think it's much better than the one here in Dallas, but don't get the chance to get over there very often. Since we have the season tickets this year for the Dallas zoo, I hope to spend more time there -

Jerry
